Using Your Signal Top Prospects Dashboard

Note: Clarity’s Signal Top Prospects Dashboard is a feature of Signal by EverTrue. If you have questions about Signal, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager (CSM).

Clarity’s Signal Top Prospects dashboard uses data such as the Donor Potential Score (DPS) and capacity scores to highlight your strongest prospective donors. This dashboard serves as the perfect tool for your fundraising team to maximize the value of DPS scores. If you are a Major Gift Officer, use it to identify new prospects with strong DPS scores (they’re more likely to become donors!). Working in Prospect Development? This dashboard will help you ensure that your strongest major gift prospects are assigned and engaged!

When you open the Signal Top Prospects dashboard, you will find it divided into two views:

  1. Top Prospects Contacted: Tracks the number of contacted constituents, organized by capacity levels and strongest to weakest DPS tiers.
  2. Top Prospects Not Contacted: Tracks the number of constituents not contacted, organized by strongest to weakest DPS tiers.

Below, we’ll take a closer look at the filters you can use to customize the data in these views. Then, we’ll focus on an example of how to use the dashboard to find high-value, unassigned prospects who have not been recently contacted. Let’s get started!

Video Overview: Meet Your Top Prospects Dashboard

Available Dashboard Filters

You can customize the Signal Top Prospect dashboard’s data using the following filters:

  • Constituencies: Filter to prospects who have a constituency in your CRM matching the selected constituency(s) (e.g., Alumni, Parents).
  • Stage: Filter to prospects who are in a portfolio stage matching the selected stage(s) (e.g., Ask, Cultivation).
  • Assigned: Filter to prospects who are or are not assigned to a solicitor.
  • Contactable: Filter to prospects who have a contact info in your CRM matching the selected contact method(s) (e.g., Email only, Email and Phone).
  • Solicit Code: Filter to prospects who have a solicitation code in your CRM matching the selected code(s) (e.g., Do Not Contact, No Calls).
  • Last Touch Point: Filter to prospects who have received a touchpoint after the selected date (e.g., has received a phone call after 4/21/2023). This filter defaults to one year prior to the current date (e.g., if today is 4/21/2024, Last Touch Point defaults to 4/21/2023).

Use Case: Finding High-Value, Unassigned Prospects

Your Top Prospects Contacted and Top Prospects Not Contacted views are interactive, made up of clickable and hoverable elements that enable thorough data analysis. Together, dashboard views and filters allow for endless experimentation, customization, and creativity. Below, we will focus on one way you can strategically use the Signal Top Prospects dashboard, but we encourage you to spend time playing around with the dashboard in your own time!

Use case: How can I find high-value, unassigned prospects who have not been recently contacted?

Step 1. Apply Your Filters

Start by applying filters to your dashboard by clicking the Filter button in the top-right corner. You can adjust as many filters as you’d like! For this example, we will only change the Last Touch Point filter to a different date. Select this filter’s date field and either manually type or use the calendar to choose a new date. The dashboard will dynamically update after a date is chosen.

Note: You can also segment to only unassigned constituents using these filters, but we’ll cover a second way you can take this action in a later step!

Step 2. Select a Green Block

Look to the dashboard’s Top Prospects Not Contacted view, where you’ll find your data organized in a stacked bar chart. Constituents are grouped into tiers corresponding to the strength of their DPS. Tiers 1-3 represent the strongest DPSs, and are made up of green and purple blocks. Tiers 4-7 represent weaker DPSs, and are made up of gray blocks.

Each green block signifies the number of constituents in that tier who have not been contacted since the applied filter date. Purple blocks represent the number of constituents who have had a touchpoint since the applied date. Select or hover over a green block to see a detailed breakdown of its unassigned and assigned constituent count.

Step 3. Click Filter by Unassigned

Within this breakdown, you’ll find an option to Filter by Unassigned. Click this option to narrow down your dashboard to constituents who are not assigned to a solicitor. In the screenshot below, you can see how some dashboard details have changed after filtering by unassigned constituents!

Note: You can also use your Filter button’s Assigned filter to segment to only unassigned constituents!

Step 4. Select a Green Block and Click View List

Now that your dashboard only shows unassigned constituents, select or hover over a green block once more and click the option to View List

Step 5. Review and Sort Your Prospects

You’ll be redirected to a Review Prospects page where you will find a table listing your organization’s imported constituents who fall in the selected DPS tier. Simply put, these are your best unmanaged prospects! Additional details such as Remote ID, Last Gift Date, and Last Contact date are also included. Hover over individual fields in the table to access different ascending/descending sorting options.

Step 6. Click View in EverTrue

Now that you’ve identified your highest-rated, unassigned constituents, you’re ready to take additional action! At the far right of your Review Prospects table, you’ll see a View in EverTrue button. Click this to navigate directly to the corresponding constituent’s profile in a new browser tab. From here, you can continue researching the constituent, add them to a cadence, add them to a list, and much more!

Back in your Review Prospects page, you’ll also find the option to download the table’s data by clicking the Data button in the upper-right corner. To return to your dashboard’s original view, click the Return to Matrix button in the upper-left corner.

That’s just one of the countless ways you can use your Signal Top Prospects dashboard to maximize your DPS and capacity data! Let us know how you’re using it!
