Signal Product Updates: April 2026
4/6/26: Improved Metro Region Data in Geography Filters
We’re upgrading the metro region data that powers geography filters across the platform. This is a behind-the-scenes data improvement: your filtering workflow stays the same, but the underlying regional coverage and matching are significantly better.
Why this matters
Expanded metro region coverage from 144 to 393 regions
Approximately 15× more constituents associated with a metro region
Improved confidence in metro region assignments (moving to high-confidence regions)
Monthly refresh cadence continues to keep data current
What you may notice
Broader reach when filtering by metro region (more regions available)
More complete results when filtering by metro region (more constituents mapped to regions)
Saved filters or saved lists that use metro regions may return different results than before
What you should do
Nothing will break, and existing geography filters will still function normally. If you rely on saved filters or saved lists that include metro regions, we recommend reviewing them after the update to confirm the results still match your intent.
Frequently asked questions
Will my filtering experience change?
No. The filtering experience stays the same. This update improves the underlying metro region data used by geography filters.
What are the biggest improvements?
You’ll see broader metro region coverage (144 to 393 regions), substantially more constituents mapped to metro regions (about 15×), and more reliable region matching.
Will this affect my saved filters or saved lists?
Possibly. Saved filters and saved lists that include metro regions may return different results after the update due to expanded coverage, improved matching, and removal of lower-confidence regions.
What happens if I don’t update anything?
Nothing will break. However, if you use saved filters or lists that include metro regions, reviewing them after the rollout helps ensure they still reflect your intended audience.
Are any metro regions being removed?
Yes. A small number of regions will no longer be available because they don’t meet the criteria for high-confidence or government-defined metro regions under the new model.
Which regions are being removed?
Greater London Area; Greater Tokyo Area; Montreal, Canada Area; Toronto, Canada Area; Vancouver, Canada Area; Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts Area; Stillwater, Oklahoma Area; Wooster, Ohio Area.
Why were those regions removed?
In many cases, these were international regions, micropolitan areas, or regions that are not government-defined metropolitan areas under the new model.
What’s the alternative if a region I use is no longer available?
Use the City option within the Location filter (or Contact Location filter) for more precise targeting. If you’d like help replicating a specific segment, your Customer Success Manager can assist.
How often will the data refresh?
Monthly.
How can I share feedback or request a region?
Please share feedback or region requests with your Customer Success Manager. We use customer feedback to evaluate future coverage improvements.
