Note: In-app outreach is a feature of Signal by EverTrue. If you have questions about Signal, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager (CSM).

Signal Email

What is Signal Email?

Signal Email lets you send constituent outreach from your email account directly within Signal. You can:

Where can I use Signal Email?

You can send emails from:

  • Constituent profiles
  • An open cadence in the Cadences tab
  • An Email task in the Tasks tab
  • The Outreach tab.

Do I need to connect my email account to use Signal Email?

Yes. You must connect your email in Signal before you can send messages, create drafts, and schedule emails to send at a future date. Learn how to connect your email account

What happens if my email becomes disconnected?

If your email disconnects (which happens every 31 days for security reasons), you will still see any existing drafts or scheduled emails in the Outreach tab. However:

  • Drafts: You can’t edit or send drafts until you reconnect your email.
  • Scheduled Emails: These will still send at their scheduled time, even if your email is disconnected. Once sent, they’ll remain in the Scheduled page until your email is reconnected. At this point, they will move to the Sent page.

Will all of my emails from my native email client appear in the Outreach tab?

No. Only emails you create and send from Signal will appear in the Outreach tab.

If I respond to an email outside of Signal, will that response show up in Outreach?

No. Only emails you create and send from Signal will appear in the Outreach tab.

Will I be notified when someone replies to an email I sent through Signal?

Yes. If the original email was sent through Signal, you will receive an in-app notification when there’s a reply. Learn more about reply notifications

Can I use email templates?

Yes. You can create and add templates to your emails to help standardize messaging and save time on frequent outreach touchpoints. Learn more about using email templates

Can I add an email signature?

Yes. You can add up to three email signatures in Signal Email and select one as a default to automatically appear in new emails. Learn more about using email signatures.

Can others at my organization see my emails in Outreach?

No. The Outreach > Your Emails tab is currently user-specific. Only you can view your email history.

Signal Phone

What is Signal Phone?

Signal Phone lets you call constituents directly in the Signal platform, using your internet connection instead of a traditional phone line. All calls are automatically logged in the Outreach > Your Phone Calls tab. Learn how to make a phone call in Signal.

Where can I use Signal Phone?

You can start in-app calls from:

  • Constituent profiles
  • An open cadence in the Cadences tab
  • A Call task in the Tasks tab

Do I need a Custom Caller ID to use Signal Phone?

Yes. You must verify a Custom Caller ID before you can make calls. This is the number that displays to constituents so they see a familiar organization contact. Learn how to verify your Custom Caller ID.

Can I change or remove my Custom Caller ID?

Yes. In your Outreach settings under Phone, click Remove Number. You can then add and verify a new number if needed. Learn how to remove your Custom Caller ID

What do the call statuses on the Your Phone Calls tab mean?

  • Connected: The call was technically completed by Signal’s call technology, whether the constituent answered, it went to voicemail, or the number was out of service.
  • Not Connected: A technical issue prevented the call from going through.

Learn more about call statuses.

Can I add or review call notes or interactions later?

Yes. In the Outreach > Your Phone Calls tab, you can:

Is my call history visible to my teammates?

No. The Outreach > Your Phone Calls tab is currently user-specific. Only you can view your call log.

Signal Video

What is Signal Video?

Signal Video lets you create and share personalized video messages directly within Signal, powered by ThankView’s 1:1 Video technology. It helps your outreach stand out! Learn how to record a video in Signal

Is Signal Video the same as ThankView?

No. While Signal Video uses ThankView’s 1:1 Video technology, it is a lightweight tool built into Signal for quick, personal outreach and does not replace the full ThankView platform. If your organization has a ThankView plan, continue using ThankView for advanced branding, campaign tools, and detailed analytics.

Where can I access Signal Video?

Anywhere you can send an email in Signal:

  • Constituent profiles
  • An open cadence in the Cadences tab
  • A ThankView or Email task in the Tasks tab
  • The Outreach tab

Can I upload existing videos to Signal Video?

Yes. Click the Video button in an open email composer and select Upload Video. Videos must be .mov, .avi, or .mp4 format and under 2GB. If you are a ThankView user, this means you can download videos from your ThankView Video Library and upload them to your Signal Video Library

Learn more about uploading videos.

Can I edit videos in Signal Video?

Yes. Before sending you can:

How do I customize the video landing page and CTA button?

When using Signal Video for the first time, you will set defaults for your landing page logo, and call-to-action button text and link. These selections will apply to all videos you create, but you can change them anytime. Learn more about setting Signal Video defaults.

Will my teammates be able to see my videos?

No. Your Video Library is user-specific. Only you can view your recorded or uploaded videos and metrics.

Where can I see my video engagement metrics?

In your Video Library, you can track:

  • Views: Number of times a video was watched (viewed more than 0%).
  • Landing Page CTA Clicks: Number of times the call-to-action button was clicked (if included).

Learn more about tracking video performance

What happens if I delete a video from my library? Will recipients still be able to watch it?

Deleting a video permanently removes it from your library and disables its landing page link, so recipients will no longer be able to view it.
