Navigating the Outreach Tab

Note: In-app outreach is a feature of Signal by EverTrue. If you have questions about Signal, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager (CSM).

The Outreach tab is your home for managing all outbound communication sent through Signal. Located in the left-hand navigation bar, the Outreach tab gives you a personalized view of your email and phone activity. Only the outreach you’ve personally sent will appear here.

Below, we’ll take a look at what you can expect to find in this space. Let’s jump in!

💡 Note: To fully utilize the Outreach tab, make sure your email provider is connected and Custom Caller ID is verified.

Reviewing the Your Emails Tab

When you open the Outreach tab, you will land on the Your Emails tab by default. This tab is divided into three pages:

  1. Drafts: See emails you’ve saved but haven’t yet sent.
  2. Scheduled: View emails that are queued up to send at a specific time.
  3. Sent: Review the emails you’ve already sent through Signal, including recipient replies if available.

Let’s take a closer look at how these pages are laid out and what details you’ll find in each.

Step 1. Review Your Email Pages

Each page in Your Emails displays a list of all relevant messages. Messages are automatically organized to show the most relevant content first. For example, recently edited drafts, upcoming scheduled emails, and the latest sent messages.

Every row in the list includes details that help you quickly assess and manage your outreach:

  • Recipient Name: Each email is linked to the respective constituent profile, giving you easy access to their details while working on outreach.
  • Subject Line: The subject of the email. If you do not include a subject, this defaults to “(no subject).”
  • Email Preview: A short preview of the email body.
  • Template Used: If you use a template, you will see a template icon and the name of the template.
  • Timestamp: Displays the date the draft was created, when the email is scheduled to send, or when it was sent.

You can also take additional action on individual emails in the Drafts or Scheduled page by clicking the three-dot menu at the end of each row. Action options vary depending on which page you are in (e.g., Discard Draft, Cancel Scheduled).

Step 2. Review the Email Composer Button

In the upper-right corner of the Your Emails tab is an Email Composer button. Click this button to open a blank email composer, so you can quickly start a new message or use Signal Video while in the Outreach tab.

Step 3. Review the Actions Button

Next to the Email Composer button is an Actions dropdown. The options in this dropdown adjust based on the page:

  • Drafts: Discard selected drafts.
  • Scheduled: Discard selected scheduled emails.

Select the checkboxes next to the appropriate emails, then click the Actions dropdown to manage  multiple messages at once!

Reviewing the Your Phone Calls Tab

The Your Phone Calls tab is your personal call log in Signal. It shows a complete list of the outbound calls you made via Signal, helping you keep track of past outreach activity. This view is user-specific, so you will only see calls made by you.

Let’s take a look at the information included on this tab for each outreach attempt!

💡 Note: If you are an iOS user, calls made via the EverTrue app will also appear here.

Step 1. Review Your Call Log

When you open the Your Phone Calls tab, you will see a table that displays your past Signal calls. Each column offers insight into your call activity:

  • Time: The date and time the call occurred, shown in your local time zone.
  • Constituent: The name of the constituent you called. Each name is linked for quick access to their profile.
  • Status: Indication of whether the call was Connected or Not Connected. Learn more about call statuses.
  • Duration: The length of the call in seconds. This field will be blank for calls with a Not Connected status.
  • Call Notes: Access to notes taken during the call. You can add new notes or edit existing notes directly from this column. Learn more about adding and editing call notes.
  • Interactions: Access to interactions added after the call. If you did not log an interaction, you can do so from this column. Learn more about logging phone interactions
