Setting Signal Video Defaults

Note: Signal Video Powered by ThankView is a feature of Signal by EverTrue. If your team is interested in using Signal, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager (CSM).

Signal Video Powered by ThankView lets you set default preferences for all video landing pages and call-to-action (CTA) buttons. These defaults appear in each video you send, helping you reduce setup time when crafting your video messages.

Below, we walk through how to set these defaults the first time you use Signal Video and how to adjust them as needed. Let’s review!

Establishing Your Default Preferences

When you use Signal Video for the first time, a Your Settings popup appears after you choose an option for adding a video. This popup prompts you to establish your default landing page and CTA button preferences. These defaults apply to all future videos, but you can update them anytime!

💡 Note: You may see the Your Settings popup again if you clear your browser cache or access Signal Video from a different browser. Just click Next to move forward if your preferences are already set.

Step 1. Open Signal Video

To access Signal Video, open an email composer and click the Video button in the bottom-right corner. Choose Record New Video, Upload Video, or Video Library to trigger the default settings popup (if it’s your first time using the feature).

Step 2. Customize Landing Page Settings

You can choose to include your organization’s logo on your video landing page. To set this default, turn on the Show Logo on Landing Page toggle and upload a file that meets the following parameters:

  • Supported formats: jpg, png, svg
  • Maximum file size: 5MB

Step 3. Customize Call-To-Action Button Settings

Next, decide whether to display a CTA button on your landing page. To add a button, turn on the Toggle Call-To-Action Button toggle, then fill in the following fields:

  • Enter Button Text: Add the label for your CTA button (e.g., “Meet with Me!”).
  • Enter Button Link URL: Add the button’s destination URL. Links must begin with “https://” to be saved.

Lastly, turn on the Show Button in Email toggle if you want the CTA button to appear in the email sent to the constituent in addition to the video’s landing page.

After customizing your preferences, click Next to save them as your defaults.

Adjusting Your Default Settings

You can update your Signal Video default landing page and CTA button settings at any time, either from your Video Library or while reviewing a video.

Step 1. Edit Defaults from the Video Library

In your Video Library, click the settings gear button in the top-right corner.

The Your Settings popup will appear, allowing you to update your existing landing page and CTA button defaults.

Click Next to save your changes and return to the library.

Step 2. Edit Defaults from the Review Video Page.

To update your defaults while reviewing a video (after recording, uploading, or opening one from your library), click the settings gear button in the top-left corner of the Review Video page. This opens a settings panel where you can adjust options specific to that video.

To update your default preferences for all videos, scroll to the bottom of the panel and click Change Defaults. This opens the Your Settings popup. Make your updates, then click Next to save and return to your Video Library.
