Adding a Constituent to a Cadence

Note: Cadences is a feature of Signal by EverTrue. If you have questions about Signal, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager (CSM).

Constituents can be enrolled in up to five Signal Cadences either individually or at scale from multiple location within the Signal platform:

  • The Actions button of a constituent profile.
  • The Add to… button of your Constituents tab.
  • The Add to… button of a list’s detailed view, accessed via your Lists tab.
  • The Add to… button of a search’s detailed view, accessed via your Saved Searches tab.
  • The Add to… button of your Recently Viewed tab.
  • The Add to… button of your Portfolios tab.
  • The three-dot button found in Recommended Actions, accessed via your Home tab.

Below, we’ll take a look at how to add constituents individually from a constituent profile and in bulk from your Constituents tab. The steps for adding will look similar no matter where you choose to take them!

Adding to a Cadence from a Constituent Profile

Step 1. Click Actions in a Constituent Profile

To add a constituent to a cadence, open their profile and click the Actions button in the upper-right corner.

Step 2. Select Add to Cadence

Next, select Add to Cadence from the dropdown.

Step 3. Choose New Cadence and Save

An Add To Cadence popup will appear. Use the Select New Cadence dropdown to choose the cadence you want to add them to. If the constituent is currently enrolled in any cadences, these will be listed under Current Cadences. Click Save to finish adding!

  • Note: Constituents can be added to a maximum of five cadences. If a constituent is already enrolled in five cadences (whether added by you or by a teammate), you will see an error message of “This constituent is in the maximum allowable cadences” when you try to save.

Step 4. Review Your Newly Added Constituent

Once added, a label indicating the constituent’s current cadence and cadence step will appear in their profile header. Click this label to be taken directly to the corresponding cadence in the Cadences tab!

If the constituent is enrolled in multiple cadences, a second label of +[cadence number] more will appear in their profile header. Click this label to see a Cadences popup that includes a summary of their cadences.

When you navigate to the Cadences tab (either by clicking the profile header label or accessing it from your left-hand navigation bar), you will find the constituent in their new cadence. Outreach steps based on the selected cadence will begin to populate! Learn more about how to run these steps in our article, Running a Cadence.

The constituent’s cadence steps will also appear in the Your Tasks table found on your Tasks tab. A label similar to the one seen in their profile header will be visible below the task name, making it easy to differentiate between ad-hoc tasks and cadence steps.

Adding to a Cadence from the Constituents Tab

Step 1. Apply Filters and Select Constituents

To add multiple constituents to a cadence, head to the Constituents tab from your left-hand navigation bar. Use your Filters dropdown to add filters to narrow down your results. Once you’ve set your filters and conducted your search, click the check box to the left of the constituents you’d like to add to a cadence.

  • Note: You can add up to 50 constituents to a cadence at one time.

Step 2. Click Add to… Your Cadences

Next, click the Add to… button found at the upper-left of your constituents table and select Your Cadences.

Step 2. Choose Cadence

Choose the cadence you want to add the constituents to, and watch as a confirmation message appears in the upper-right corner of the platform.

  • Note: Constituents can be added to a maximum of five cadences. If any selected constituents are already enrolled in five cadences (whether added by you or by a teammate), you will see an error message of “This constituent is in the maximum allowable cadences” when choosing the cadence. Only those not already enrolled in five cadences will be added.

Once added, you will see these constituents in their new cadence when navigating to the Cadences tab. Outreach steps based on the selected cadence will also populate! Learn more about how to run these steps in our article, Running a Cadence.
