Modifying Custom Cadences

Note: Cadences is a feature of Signal by EverTrue. If you have questions about Signal, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager (CSM).

After creating a cadence and building out its steps,  you can easily make modifications as needed! Below, we’ll walk you through the steps to edit and delete cadences and cadence steps. Let’s get started!

Modifying a Custom Cadence as a User

Both EverTrue Users and EverTrue Owners can modify custom cadences from Signal’s Cadences tab. EverTrue Owners with admin permissions can also make modifications from our Data Manager. We’ll cover how to make these changes from the Data Manager later in the article.

Note: You must be the owner (creator) of a cadence to access modification capabilities.

Step 1. Edit a Cadence’s Details

To edit one of your custom cadences, navigate to your Cadences tab and open the cadence you want to modify. Then, click on Actions in the upper-right corner and select Edit Cadence.

An Edit Cadence Details popup will appear in which you can adjust any cadence details. After making your changes, click Update to finalize the edits.

Note: If you change the Cadence Category field, teammates who are not part of the new category will still see the cadence listed in their All Cadences table on the Cadences tab. They can continue using the cadence by accessing it from this location!

Step 2. Delete a Cadence

To delete one of your custom cadences, click Actions in the upper-right corner of the open cadence and select Delete Cadence

A Delete Cadence popup will appear, asking you to confirm the deletion. Click Delete to remove the cadence.

Note: If you or any teammates have active constituents (i.e., constituents with pending cadence steps) in a cadence you’re trying to delete, you won’t be able to delete it.  If you attempt to delete the cadence, a notification will alert you to the active constituents. You and your teammates will need to either remove the constituents from the cadence, move them to a different cadence, or complete their steps before you can delete it.

Step 3. Edit a Cadence Step

To edit a step in one of your custom cadences, open the cadence with the steps in need of modification. Click the three-dot button found at the right of the step you want to edit and select Edit Step.

An Edit Step popup will appear in which you can adjust step details. After making your changes, click Update to finalize the edits.

Note: Changes made to cadence steps will affect all teammates using your custom cadence. We recommend notifying your teammates when making significant modifications, such as adding new steps.

Step 4. Delete a Cadence Step

To delete one of your custom cadence steps, click the three-dot button found at the right of the step you want to remove and select Delete Step

A Delete Step popup will appear, asking you to confirm the deletion. Click Delete to remove the step.
