All About: EverTrue's AI-Profile Chat

Note: This feature is not enabled by default. If your organization is interested in activating this feature for your team, please have an EverTrue Owner reach out to your Customer Success Manager (CSM). Once enabled, the feature will be accessible to users on the EverTrue desktop app. Opting into AI-Profile Chat also activates EverTrue’s other AI features.


What is EverTrue’s AI-Profile Chat?

EverTrue’s AI-Profile Chat is designed to provide quick, accessible insights about individual constituents at your fingertips! It leverages AI to surface key details about a constituent’s background, giving history, and more, saving you time and effort during outreach preparation. 

Whether you’re heading into a donor meeting, crafting a personalized email, or double-checking a spouse’s name during a phone call, use this feature so you can focus less on searching for the right information and more on building donor relationships. 

Below, we’ll explore AI-Profile Chat’s capabilities in more detail and walk you through how to use it on your desktop app. Let’s get started! 

💡 Note: EverTrue’s AI-Profile Chat is currently available only on EverTrue’s desktop app. 


AI-Profile Chat Capabilities 

AI-Profile Chat supports your workflow by handling a variety of tasks, but there are some functionalities it doesn’t cover just yet. Below, we’ll break down what the chat can do and what it can’t do, with examples of the types of questions it can answer—and those it cannot. 

What Can AI-Profile Chat Do?

Answer Constituent Questions

EverTrue’s AI-Profile Chat can help you quickly summarize or answer questions about individual constituents’ data, making it a valuable tool for assisting with meeting prep or providing donation details that you’d like to use in donor communication. 

The chat’s answers are based on a subset of data available for each constituent, including both your CRM data and non-rejected EverTrue enriched data. This subset is called the AI Profile Chat’s Awareness Window

Examples of questions AI-Profile Chat can answer

  • Provide me with a summary of the data we have on [Constituent Name].
  • What is [Constituent Name]’s spouse’s name?
  • What is [Constituent Name]’s child’s name?
  • When was the last time [Constituent Name] donated to our organization?
  • When was the last time somebody from our organization interacted with [Constituent Name]?
  • When was [Constituent Name]’s most recent gift transaction, and what was the amount?

What Can’t AI-Profile Chat Do?

While AI-Profile Chat can swiftly answer questions and summarize constituent data, there are some tasks it cannot perform—at least not for now! 

  • Create or Edit Things: AI-Profile Chat cannot create interactions (contact reports), tasks, meetings, or email drafts (use our iOS app’s AI Assistant for these actions!), nor can it edit existing interactions, tasks, meetings, or data on a constituent profile. 
  • Broader Data Insights: The chat cannot summarize trends or information across your entire constituent base; it can only provide insights for one constituent at a time. 
  • Saving Conversations: Conversations with AI-Profile Chat are not saved for future access or reference.
  • Lists and Criteria-Based Queries: AI-Profile Chat cannot generate lists of constituents matching specific criteria (e.g., location or assignment). 
  • Accessing Data Outside of the Awareness Window: The chat cannot answer questions about data outside of its Awareness Window (e.g., a constituent’s cadence details).

Examples of questions AI-Profile Chat cannot answer

  • Creating or Edit Things: Can you create a meeting with [Constituent Name] for me? 
  • Creating or Edit Things: Can you edit the most recent contact report on [Constituent Name]’s profile for me?
  • Broader Data Insights: Is giving across my constituent base trending up or down compared to this time last year? 
  • Broader Data Insights: Who are the top 10 donors in my constituent base? 
  • Lists and Criteria-Based Queries: Which constituents are assigned to me and live within 20 miles of Boston?
  • Accessing Data Outside of the Awareness Window: Can you tell me [Constituent Name]’s current cadence and cadence step?

Using AI-Profile Chat

Step 1. Click Actions in a Constituent Profile 

To access AI-Profile Chat, open a constituent’s profile and click the Actions button in the upper-right corner. 

Step 2. Select AI-Profile Chat

Next, select Launch AI Profile Chat from the dropdown menu.

 

Step 3. Add Your Prompt

An AI-Profile Chat - [Constituent Name] window will open in the bottom-right corner of the profile. You can start your conversation in two ways:

  1. Choose a quick-start option like What is [Constituent Name]’s Job?
  2. Type a specific question about the constituent and click the arrow to the right of the text box to send it.  

Step 4. Review the Response

The chat will process your question, and respond with the requested information. You can continue asking follow-up questions to gain additional insights about the constituent!    

For example: If you’re on a phone call and need to quickly remind yourself when the constituent last connected with someone from your organization, you can: 

  1. Open AI-Profile Chat (it will open alongside your dialpad!), and select the quick-start prompt: When was our most recent interaction with [Constituent Name]? 
  2. Follow up with additional questions as they arise, like: What is [Constituent Name]’s child’s name? 

AI-Profile Chat’s access to key constituent details enables you to effortlessly fill in knowledge gaps during your conversation!

Step 5. End Your Chat

When you’re ready to close AI-Profile Chat, click the gray X in the upper-right corner of the chat window. A Close AI Profile Chat? popup will appear, reminding you that the chat will not be saved once closed. Click End Chat to confirm. 


Maximizing AI-Profile Chat 

Step 1. Keep the Chat Open As You Navigate EverTrue

Once you open AI-Profile Chat, it remains accessible as you navigate throughout the constituent profile or the broader EverTrue platform.The chat stays tied to the original constituent’s data no matter where you go. 

Remember, you can close AI-Profile Chat by clicking the gray X in the upper-right corner of the chat window! 

Step 2. Copy Chat Prompts and Responses

AI-Profile Chat allows you to copy both your inputs and the AI’s responses for use elsewhere. Simply hover over any text in the chat to see the Copy option. Click Copy and paste where needed. 

For example: Imagine you’re writing an email to a constituent and need a quick data reference. While writing your email:

  1. Pull up AI-Profile Chat (it will open alongside your email composer!), and ask your question. 
  2. Hover over the AI’s response, click Copy, and paste it directly into the email body. Refine the email as needed! 

Use this feature to copy and paste text from your chat into things like pinned comments, task descriptions, or other resources to retain important details for future use. 

Step 3. Open Multiple Chats Simultaneously 

You can open multiple AI-Profile Chats at once to streamline workflows across different constituent profiles. To do so, start a chat from one profile and leave it open while navigating to another profile to begin a new chat.

For example: If you need to ask the same question across multiple profiles:

  1. Ask the question to your first open chat. 
  2. Copy the input and paste into additional open chats. 

Each chat window displays the constituent’s name in its header, so you’ll always know who you’re chatting about—even with multiple windows open!
