Using EverTrue Pinned Comments

What is EverTrue Pinned Comments?

EverTrue's Pinned Comments feature gives you the ability to quickly pass along important constituent information to your team. Once pinned, your colleagues can easily view these comments within a constituent profile's Pinned Comment section, making them distinguishable from other comments or interaction types.

Many CRMs allow you to record high-level constituent comments, short narratives, and flags. You will find that EverTrue Pinned Comments offers a home for this same type of information. There are countless ways you can leverage this feature to benefit your team!

  • Pin "need-to-knows" to give key players on your team visibility into the most important notes you have about a constituent. This eliminates their need to sift through a lengthy interaction feed to find the same information!
  • Use this section to highlight strategy or research notes for individual constituents.
  • Encourage new teammates to check out constituents' pinned comments for context about your top donors.
  • Take a look at a constituent's pinned comments to make easy work of the constituent record review process! Quickly recall relevant information about your prospects ahead of on-the-road meetings and calls.

Below, we will review how to pin EverTrue Comments, where to view comments once pinned, and how remove pinned comments. Let's dive in so you can begin using these pinned details to strengthen your prospect relationships!

Pinning an EverTrue Comment

You will find the ability to pin an EverTrue Comment interaction type in the same locations where you can currently add comments and interactions:

  • The Recent Interaction feed of a constituent profile's Summary tab.
  • The Interaction tab of a constituent profile.
  • The Actions button of a constituent profile.
  • The Actions button of a comment's detailed view.
  • The Actions button of a trip's detailed view, accessed via your Trips & Meetings tab.
  • The Activity + icon of a proposal's detailed view, accessed via your Proposals tab.

To pin an EverTrue Comment from one of these locations, click Add Interaction and select EverTrue Comment from the Interaction Type dropdown. If you are not writing interactions in-app, click Add Comment. Write your comment and check the box that appears next to Pin this comment. Be sure to click Post Comment to finish the process!

If you would like to edit an existing EverTrue Comment so that it can be pinned to a constituent profile, you can do so from the relevant comment's detailed view. This view is accessible wherever you'll find a feed of constituent interactions or comments:

  • The Recent Interaction feed in a constituent profile's Summary tab.
  • The Interactions tab of a constituent profile.
  • The Interactions tab of your left-hand navigation bar.

You will only be able to edit EverTrue Comments originally written by you, so be sure to open one that you authored to access this option! Once opened to the comment's detailed view, click the Actions button and select Edit.

An Edit Interaction popup will appear in which you will find the same option to Pin this comment. Click Save to finish editing your comment!

In addition to pinning comments from the places you already use to write interactions, you will find an Add Comment button within a constituent profile's Pinned Comments section that is accessed from their Summary tab. This can be used to quickly pin a comment to their profile.

Viewing Your Pinned Comments

Once saved, you can find pinned comment in a few locations. Let's explore where to navigate within the EverTrue app to view these details!

Please note pinned comments are public, and will be visible to all members of your team who have access to EverTrue. Because viewing pinned comments is not permissions-based, we recommend setting team-wide expectations for the type of information you would like to see pinned!

Viewing Pinned Comments within a Constituent Profile

The primary place to view your pinned comments is by navigating to a constituent profile's Pinned Comments section, found on the right of each profile's Summary tab. You will notice a View All button at the bottom of this section. Clicking it will prompt a scrollable popup housing all of the comments pinned for that constituent.

You will also see pinned comments within a profile's interaction feeds. We indicate if a comment is pinned to a profile by highlighting the interaction in green and pairing it back to a pushpin icon and Pinned to the profile note. The example below shows how pinned comments appear in the profile's Interactions tab.

Viewing Pinned Comments within a Proposal

If a comment was pinned within the Activity section of a proposal, it will be designated in this section by a green highlight in addition to appearing within a constituent's profile. This feature of Pinned Comments will help you easily see comments that are relevant to a specific proposal!

Viewing Pinned Comments within a Trip

If a comment was pinned within a trip's detailed view, it will be designated in the respective Trip Log by a green highlight and pushpin icon in addition to appearing within a constituent's profile. This feature of Pinned Comments will help you easily see comments that are relevant to a specific trip!

Unpinning EverTrue Comments

Unpinning EverTrue Comments can be done within the relevant comment's detailed view. This view is accessible wherever you'll find a feed of constituent interactions and comments:

  • The Recent Interaction feed in a constituent profile's Summary tab.
  • The Interactions tab of a constituent profile.
  • The Pinned Comments feed in a constituent profile's Summary tab.
  • The Interactions tab of your left-hand navigation bar.

You will only be able to unpin EverTrue Comments originally written by you, so be sure to open one that you authored to access this option! Once opened to the comment's detailed view, click the Actions button and select Edit.

An Edit Interaction popup will appear in which you can uncheck the Pin this comment box. Click Save to finish unpinning the comment from the constituent's profile.
