Automatic Cadence Pausing

To help your team maintain a natural outreach rhythm, EverTrue includes an Automated Holiday Pause feature. This ensures that cadence step due dates don’t accidentally fall on major U.S. federal holidays, preventing your team from falling behind during office closures.

How it Works

By default, EverTrue recognizes standard U.S. federal holidays as blackout dates. When a cadence step is scheduled to occur on one of these dates, the system automatically shifts the due date forward to the next available business day.

This feature is designed to:

  • Protect Response Rates: Avoid sending automated or manual outreach when prospects are likely away from their desks.

  • Maintain Clean Task Lists: Prevent a backlog of "overdue" tasks from accumulating while your team is out of the office.

Recognized Holidays

Unless your organization has requested to opt out, cadences will automatically pause on the following holidays:

  • New Year's Day
  • Birthday of Martin Luther King Jr.
  • Birthday of George Washington
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Indigenous Peoples' Day
  • Veterans Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas

Managing the Pause: Your Options

We recognize that every organization has a different operating rhythm. You have two primary ways to manage your holiday schedule:

1. Opting Out of Automatic Pauses

If your team works through federal holidays or prefers to manage pauses entirely on your own, you can Opt-Out of this feature.

  • Requesting a Change: Reach out to your Customer Success Manager to have the automatic holiday pause turned OFF for your organization.

  • Effect: Once disabled, cadence steps will be scheduled regardless of federal holidays.

Disabling this feature is not retroactive. It will only apply to cadence steps created after the setting is changed.

2. Manual Pauses

Regardless of your organization’s automated settings, you can always implement a Manual Pause. This is ideal for:

  • Organization-specific closures (e.g., a "Spring Break" week or local holidays).

  • Specific cadences that need to be held for a custom duration.
