Using Micro Files

You have the ability to import your Constituent File in micro files to support vertical file ingestion. Please refer to our constituent file guide for descriptions of the file fields, and our naming convention guide for help with naming your micro files.

Keep the following details in mind as you explore importing your Constituent File in micro files:

  • This file structure is only available through the Data Manager importer. If you are still using Console, contact genius@evertrue.com to make the switch.
  • We are currently expanding the EverTrue data model so there may be some fields in the importer that are not yet visible in EverTrue.
  • Our importer allows you to do either a full import or a partial import of your data sets, which include any changes since the last import. With the vertical nature of micro files where a constituent can have multiple records, you MUST include all records for the constituent if any record in a specific data set has changed when performing a partial import. For example, if a constituent has three activities and you want to add/update one activity for a constituent, you must also include all three existing activities. Any activity that is not included will get deleted for that constituent.

Below, we've mapped out each micro file type, the fields included within the micro file, and provided sample files to help you get started with using micro files.
