DonorSearch's DS Ratings evaluate a prospect's giving potential by assessing their wealth and philanthropic history. This article breaks down each rating and helps you understand why a constituent was given this rating.

DS 1-1

  • Gift of $5K+ to a nonprofit or political organization

  • May show additional wealth indicators

DS 1-2

  • Major wealth indicators. Examples include:

    • $2M+ in real estate

    • Executive at $5M+ firm

    • Foundation trustee

    • SEC insider

    • $10K+ political giving

DS 1-3

  • Moderate wealth markers. Examples include:

    • $1–$2M in real estate

    • Executive at $1–$5M firm

    • $5K–$10K political giving

DS 1-4

  • Emerging wealth markers. Examples include:
    • $500K–$1M real estate
    • 3+ properties
    • Single gift of $500+

DS 1-5

  • Some wealth markers. Examples include:

    • Executive at $1M+ firm

    • SEC insider or board member

DS 3

  • No identified wealth or giving indicators
