Modifying and Filtering on Dynamic Lists
Note: Dynamic Lists is a beta feature, and is not turned on by default. Please reach out to your CSM if you are interested in joining the beta testing group for this feature.
Let's take a look at Dynamic Lists in action by reviewing how to edit, delete, and filter on your dynamic lists! Be sure to turn on your Filters Beta toggle to access these actions.
Modifying a Dynamic List
With Dynamic Lists, you will use our modification feature to see the current filters applied to your lists and to make permanent edits to your existing searches as needed! To access this feature, head to your Dynamic Lists tab and select the name of a list you would like to change. Click your Actions button in the top-right corner and select Modify Search Criteria.
A modification popup window will appear in which you can see all filter selections currently applied to the list. You can add new filters using the blue icon or remove existing filters using the trashcan icon. Once you make the necessary adjustments, click Apply.
A final notification alerting you that the list will not be viewable until it is finished updating will appear. Click Update List to approve your changes and move forward with the updates.
Once approved, your dynamic list will adjust accordingly to permanently reflect the changed filters. You can see indication of this in your Dynamic Lists tab. If the dynamic list contains a large number of constituents, this adjustment process could take a few minutes to complete.
Deleting Dynamic Lists
If you find yourself in need of deleting a dynamic list, open your Dynamic Lists tab and select the list you would like to remove. Click your Actions button in the top-right corner and choose Delete List.
A popup will appear in which you can confirm that you would like to delete the list by clicking Delete.
Once successfully deleted, you will no longer be able to access the list in question. For instance, if you open your notifications bell icon and select the notification that the corresponding dynamic list is ready, you will be met with a page indicating the list has been permanently deleted.
Filtering on a Dynamic List
Filtering directly on a dynamic list is a great way to hone in on a more specific set of constituents from your dynamic list pool without permanently changing the already-established filter parameters. For example, if you are planning a trip to Boston and want to filter your dynamic list of individuals whose lifetime giving exceeds $250,000 to determine which of these constituents live in this city, you can use this feature to make that determination!
To filter on a dynamic list, head to your Dynamic Lists tab and open the list you would like to temporarily adjust. Use your filters bar at the top of the page to either adjust the list's Quick Filters or click More Filters to add new or remove existing filters from the list. You will see your list results automatically adjust if changing your Quick Filters from the filters bar. If using More Filters, be sure to click Apply to view your updated results.
When your dynamic list is further filtered, you will notice a Reset button appear next to the applied filters. Click this to change your results back to the list's previously established parameters.
